Any Umbrella

Any umbrella will do…. In fact the cheapest will be best. There were three sizes three prices. I assumed that smaller equaled cheaper. There was only one super small umbrella and it was pastel pink. I didn’t care. For 2,50 euro I threw it in the cart.
Yeah…… got back up the hill with all my groceries (no small accomplishment) only to find my “cheap pink umbrella” was actually an expensive 9 euro pink BARBIE umbrella. I would never knowingly support the Barbie industry.
I’m keeping it. It is still raining… and it’s a good story.

It has been a much cooler rainier week. I’m thrilled!!! If you were praying on behalf of my hot flashes it must have worked. PLEASE continue.
Upside of rain, I’m not hot-flashing ALL the time. Downside of rain… my hand-washed clothes are not dry and I may have to wear the same clothes for 3 more days.

Field trip to Rome on Wednesday. We went to a folk museum that I found online a month or so ago. I really enjoyed it. There are pictures here of a wagon and walking stick from there. The statues are from fountains in Rome. There is also the interior of a church that had some beautiful Carravaggio paintings, and an interior shot of the Pantheon.
The other pics are from our Friday field trip to a crazy Tarot sculpture garden. The large lady is hollow inside and was a house for the artist for 2 years.

Best part of the week. Emily arrived on Friday night. Sooooo nice to have someone I love here. It really is a beautiful small town and I am trying to soak it in. After the day in hectic Rome I was so glad to get back to little Orvieto. I am truly a died in the wool small town lover over big city bustle.

That's quite a variety of pics. Glad Em arrived safely. Can't wait to see you next week. I'll get the shampoo- be sure to let me know of anything else you might need, cause now that you have a pink Barbie umbrella, you have it all!

Sure you didn't want the barbie one! That totally made me lol. Glad the hot flashes have passed. that picture of the "chesticles" is something else. I'm sure it IS nice to have someone you know there. Glad things are going well. Looking forward to hearing more.

Kenna is totally jealous you have a Barbie umbrella. It would make her pretty pink bike and barbie birthday cake. Keep having fun. I know you will now that Emily is there.
