So little of note happens in my life really. Yeah, yeah I have the daily grind of work, trauma with colleagues and the occasional dog emergency, but mostly mundane cause it is all about me.But today for a few short hours Kelsey and the girls stopped on their way back to Texas. That's something to write about.
They ate some lunch (note the yogurt almost up Leyla's nose), danced a great deal, jumped on the bed, and in general wore themselves out. (Chloe is checking out the wooden mannequin hand I got from Miste for Christmas....she seems quite impressed)I'm going to try to load two sideways videos I took of them jumping on the bed. They are sideways because I rarely take videos and when I do I always manage to forget that you can't turn the camera! They are both well worth the watch, even sideways.
One has Leyla doing her version of jump dancing, and the other, if you wait until the very end, you can hear Chloe exclaim "I'm a monkey jumpin on the bed!"
So nice to see them for just a snippet. Such cuties... all three!
Well it seems my video is too complex for both blogspot and youtube, as both are "unable to convert" the video. Obviously it is the web... it can't be me. Anyway, no video

Lucky you to have such a visit. Looks like fun. Is there a story behind that mannequin hand? It's not the first Christmas gift I would think of, but then I'm not know for any artistic nature.
Mission accomplished! The girls COMPLETELY wore themselves out at your house. Leyla slept for two hours straight right after we left. And Chloe fell asleep about 45 minutes after we left and woke up when Leyla did because Leyla's loud.
I'm in the Van Horn hotel right now just getting ready to get some sleep. Thanks so much for having us! It was too short, but much better than nothing at all! Love you!
So glad my sweaty dancing and spinning proved of use!
Funny you should ask about the hand.... the story is that Miste always kindly gives me a B and N gift certificate for christmas, and I usually buy some bargain books, or books I can use at school. I vowed this year to buy something "frivolous" that I wouldn't normally buy, even though I like.
So, I've always loved wooden artist's mannequin hands...(mostly because they are cool looking).. and amazingly they had them at the B and N website, so that is what I got myself. Miste didn't know what they were either, so the photo will help her out too.
What do I DO with it.... so far it has been used to briefly entertain 2 little girls. Other than that... well I like how it looks. (;
Fun pictures of the girs AND the mannequin hand. That is pretty much what I pictured it looking like. Nice visit for you a and for them. Fun times always to be had with celiac!
I'm so glad they got to stop and see you. And the fact that there was a nice jointed hand around to play with, not to mention a bed for jumping and dancing...well bonus! And Chloe's right - she is a little monkey. They both are.
