Enough Pull

No, I haven't bought a house.

If I don't buy a house or stop looking for a house soon, I am likely to strangle or at the very least verbally abuse my realtor Mary. She is fond of spouting whatever comes to mind, as if it is gospel, in order to persuade or dissuade me from a given property, or convince me of what I can or cannot afford.

I've been told: (to name a very few)
-a skylight was an attic access
-that vinyl squares were tile
-A swinging ceiling fan which was clearly not attached properly was just a "style" of fan.. "they make them that way sometimes"
-"most homes in Tucson don't come with refrigerators"

The list goes on, and I don't have the energy.... you get the point.

Because of this, I have reason to doubt most of what she says, and that is becoming a problem.

I recently put an offer on a house (below asking) and we found out the next day the property was actually a "short sale" but the listing agent had neglected to put that in the listing. That is vital bit of info, because it means closing could take months,(many months according to Mary) The only way I can afford the property is by getting the $8000 tax credit, and to get that credit you have to close by November 30th.

So, long story sort of short. My bid has been accepted by the seller, but the glitch in all this is getting it accepted by the bank in a timely manner. Mary, says it is impossible.

I think it IS unlikely. But! in a bid to prove Mary, (literally contrary) wrong, and also in the hopes of getting into a property in a decent neighborhood that isn't in need of fumigation, I'm asking all of you who pray to a higher power, or put out energy on behalf of others, or meditate for peace, to please do so on behalf of my house hunting.

No need to rally for the exact property I have an offer on. (pictures of said property here) I was actually just hoping for some clarity. I have pretty much exhausted the listings in my range and safety zones, and the ol $8000 deadline is a tickin. Add to that being very behind in work, and cold fusion commitments due to the time all of this has taken... really, Mary's safety is at stake.

I doubt I have enough pull with the powers that be, so maybe if enough people put the good placations on my behalf???.... you get the picture. (:

p.s. Don't get me started on the ugly orange kitchen. Luckily I can paint.

I love that you got a fetching picture of said Miss Mary chillin in the white chair. I will keep you in my thoughts, prayers and send positive vibes your way. You MUST prove Mary wrong. You're right about the cabinets. Though I had pictured something even more hideous from your description.
Good luck this week!

I'll do my part! It looks like a lovely place to call home-- albeit a bit of paint will do wonders in your kitchen. DOWN with MISS MARY!

I will remember you.
I love you and thanks for listening to me the other night. You are like grandma, you listen so well that I all I do is talk.
I loved seeing the pictures grandma had of the house. I know it will work out. Something will give, maybe Mary!
