It all started back in 2004 not long after convincing Emily's mom I was a New Zealand police officer who had her daughter in custody for possession of cannabis. (One of the best practical jokes ever.. but that is another and way too long story)
Randa, Emily's mom, is a great sport who can take it just as well as she can dish it out, so not long after the BPJE (best practical joke ever) and a discussion with Randa about worries over her daughter's single status, I broke out my barely formed photoshop skills to create an image of Em as a lesbian to send to the worried Randa.
Who knew I would find a hobby I can't seem to shake?
Once or twice a year I send Randa an image of Em with a ridiculous story surrounding the "facts" behind the picture.
Dance hall twins, my mothers best friend in college, a Medici ancestor, 1920s Peach queen...all Emily doppelgangers.
(I threw in a picture I did last spring of Aleta's girls just for fun.)
While my photoshop skills have improved (I don't think I'll be winning any awards on that account) it really has been about the challenge and fun.
Now if I could only put those skills to a constructive use in my cold fusion research....?
(ps. thanks for all your kind remarks on my last post. I wasn't actually trying to get you all to tell me how amazing my posts are, but in retrospect I can see how it looked like was.)

Those are fantastic! Some look eerily real. Others just make me laugh. Miss Emily DOES have the crazy looks that go along with it rather well.
I like the one of the four girls too. FUN!
Thanks for sharing.
Those are super fun. I loved looking at them.
So does she pose a face each year for your picture, or do you just have a bank you pull from? Those are Awesome, it is crazy what you can do these days. I would love an hour or two to sit down and pick your brain again!!
Emily doesn't pose at all. She doesn't see the pics until her mom does. I have quite a few pictures of her since we have been friends for 10 years, and we have traveled quite a bit together.
That was too funny. I hope Emily's mom get's a kick out of them. They certainly cracked me up. What a fun little "tradition" to have with Emily & her mom.
Wow.....Emily has been through a lot in her short life!
Those make me laugh, thanks.
