If the events I don't want to discuss at length were headlines they would read:
"Student Accuses Teacher of Choking"
"Celiac Disease Causes Frustration"
"Unusual Thanksgiving Tradition Still Honored"
"Women Furnishes Entire Home from Craigslist"
OK, that last one I AM willing to talk about; the latest acquisitions for my cold fusion research lab (formerly a master bedroom). These particular purchases required fortitude on my part.
The drive 40 minutes across town, twice, was not the problem, nor was the physical challenge of unloading these beasts by myself. (which I'm proud to say I did!)
They were purchased from the same guy who, over the course of the two trips, divulged wayyyyy too much information for my comfort level. I awkwardly listened to chronicles of the loss of his wife to cancer last year, her amazing genius chef daughter (who he will visit in Las Vegas this T-Day), how he met this second wife who died, at a cancer survivors support group because his first wife had also died of cancer, how she was a gifted couture designer, and magical healer...... and on and on.
OY it was awkward, and I'm really leaving soooo much out.
All the while I'm desperately trying to get out the door and into my truck. He actually did the "Bob" thing and followed me to the car, talking to me while I'm IN the car. Seriously, every non verbal AND verbal queue was given.
I know, I know... I sound totally cold hearted, I'm not. (as evidenced by how long I was there!)
Clearly I wanted both items which would have cost 8 times new what I purchased them for. But this does bring up the question of a price that does not involve money. My boundaries are blurred there.

I love the big file thing. Great for holding large sheets of cold fusion paper.
Also, I have the craigs list problem, too. Today I asked Shane if he had anywhere he wanted to go today. His reply, "why? What did you find on Craig's list this time?"
I am SOOOO jealous of your purchases! It's probably a good thing- well, no probably about it. that there really isn't much in the way of Craig's list my way.
I could certainly relate to the teacher choking student feeling.
How nifty that you were able to find something that fit so perfectly into that empty non-usable space.
And when you figure out that blurred line between bargain and no money please let me in on it.
Like the purchases. You are a craislist wonder. Curious about the choking student thing personally. How as YOUR T-day?
Oh I am so sorry darling. I swear there are times when it really be nice to not have to deal with people at all. Too many crazies!
I don't have the eye for things like you do when it comes to Craigs list. Jason does and he has gotten some good things.
I like those purchases! Looks like a lot of room to store all your supplies and experiments ;)
Too bad you can't expand on some of those headlines....I'm hooked!
Great finds! I too am curious of the headlines and the stories they contain. Des filled me in on the first one. You are defiantly not lacking in the category of "crazies" you encounter in life!! Makes for good stories??
