-Exchange crappy 80's looking rental car for one from this century
-Find great parking for ferry to Isla... only to discover the great parking was because we were taking the "slow" local ferry.(e.g. the wrong ferry) Horrible view out, but great Mexican soap opera's on tv inside. (we were the only English speakers on the way over AND back)
-Rent golf cart and find recommended beach lunch spot.
-Enjoy amazing colored water views and wonky golf cart antics (turns out the antics were partly due to a flat tire)
-Convince cart rental place we deserve another cart for a few hours longer due to flat tire. Play at beach, shop for stuff. Ride the ferry back, all the while wondering who exactly left who on the Mexican style "Ricky Lake" talk show.

Sounds like you got the requisite "adventures" all along the way. Looks like fun!
I think the slow ferry sounds interesting--nice local flavor but maybe a bit too long soaking up the local flavor. Sounds like a great day all and all. What an awesome trip for everyone. I imagine that it was all Kimberly could have hoped for and more!
