I had a great time relaxing, eating home made strawberry jam and teasing the kids.
I helped Aleta sort through a ton of scrap fabric someone gave her. She really wanted to make a "Practice quilt" to practice her machine sewing skills, so we set about using all of this random fabric she was given. (lots of colors she would never pick)
After we picked it all out we couldn't wait to see what it might look like so on and off for 3 days she would cut strips while I sewed.
I've included a picture of how far we got. It was really fun and in the end I think her practice scrap quilt will actually look quite nice!
Also a picture of James the strange boy. What a character!
So, now back in the heat of Tucson. Much catching up to do since missing classes before the break. I'm all healed up.
Headed to W. V. next week. Lots to do to get ready for Italy in May. Oh the time is flying.
It really was nice to relax in the spring green of the Palouse. Made me long for my college days there.

Wow! Those falls ARE full throttle. I think the quilt is going to be lovely...and it's practice? Her practice is my best effort (which I never get around to... James is growing indeed. Goofy lil guy. Glad you got some rest and to spend some time with Aleta. I'm sure it was a rest for her to have you there as well.. Good luck on the rest of the semester...It's flying by and you've got WAY too many thing crammed in there.
That's practice??????
Glad you had a good visit with Aleta. It was fun to have them over here for a visit too. Glad you got over stomach stuff too. I wish I could practice and make something look that good--especially out of scraps no less. Amazing!
