Enough Adjectives

The pictures for the last week or so will say it all.
A once in a lifetime trip through the Corridorio. A 1kilomoter long, 2nd story passage from the Uffizzi to the Boboli Gardens made by the Medici where the worlds largest collection of portraits is housed, but has been closed to the public for 30 years. Alba our Italian coordinator managed to get 30 of us in. (see pic of round window looking over the Arno) Really something. We have met dozens of Italians who cant believe we were there.
Then the amazing, overwhelming, spectacular …. Etc etc. Dolomiti. Crazy made it to Bolzano… eventually (check out her blog for the detail)
So Emily, Crazy and I made our multi day hikes and Indie 500 driving trips through these amazing mountains. We ran out of adjectives, which didn’t seem to do them justice anyway. As with all monumental sites pictures capture only a fraction of the immensity and grandure. Look close at the pictures, as several have the different Rifugios where we slept (rifugios are mountain huts that provide blankets and food so you don’t have to carry it all with you) One picture also has Crazy and Emily lounging in front the Marmolade the highest mountain in the Dolomites. You will have to look close.

One pic is also a shot of the freezer section from a small town supermarket. Of note to ME: everything in the picture is Gluten Free!!! Man, Europe looks better all the time.

We are back in Orvieto and it is hotter than blazes. Only a few busy days and Crazy and I are off to Firenze, then flying home. All strange.

I need a map so I can figure out where you are. You are one lucky girl to see those portraits.
