thankful?

Thanks to Kelsey, I grabbed this from the saved bin!

Inspired by Crazy and her positive post, I will answer her query, What are you grateful for?

I don't have pictures of it all, and I'm sorry I still don't know how to make the pictures go with the words. You are clever. Deduce.

I'm thankful for:
Family. Immediate family yes. disfuctional though we may be (as most familys are)
I'm also thankful for the family that came before me and the many young ones much younger than me.
In particular
MOM. A woman who taught us how to work, be faithful, honest and kind.... all through her example.

Friends:
Friends old and new. Many have become family to me.

Home:
From the ranch as a child to my own little house, I am so glad and fortunate to live where a solid home is a possibility.

Health:
I'm still functioning.. that is good.
(if you are related to me and haven't been screened for Celica disease...uh, duh, you should)

Earth:
Every time I pray I express my gratitute for the beauty of this earth. It feeds my soul and reminds me there is a higher power.

Job:
yeah yeah, I know. But it truth I am so LUCKY to have a job with my particular set of wierd skills. I must concentrate on this, not the parts of the job that aren't so great.

I'm thankful for much much more... but these were the broadest most encompassing groups I could devise.

Oh good, I'm glad you found it! No wonder you can't digest stuff! Look at the difference in surface area between those two intestinal cross sections. I have to admit, I haven't been screened. Maybe once the hurricane passes, I'll call the student health center and see if they can screen me. I'd like to know if it's a recessive gene though. If not, I don't have to worry because my mom doesn't have it. But if so, all bets are off. I better go attend to my children.

Ok, so you caused me to tear up this morning. Pictures sure do bring back memories huh? Thanks for the reminders and for the lovely start today. I love you!

Oh.. now I'm gonna get on the Celia soap box. Crazy can be a full blown carrier of the gene and never develop the active disease. It is complicated, and I'm happy to give you all the down and dirties.

Lets chat... but you should get tested.
30% of my siblings would have active celiac, and all could be carriers.

Sorry.
