Canaries

Mom's house smells a bit like curdled milk these days.

It's all for a good cause. She and I are in the throws of a regime purported to help people with Crohns, Colitis, Celiac, and a host of other digestion related problems.

It's based on some decent sounding science having to do with the structure of starch molecules and their digestibility. It is long and a bit complicated to go into, but honest it isn't something we jumped into lightly or without extensive reading. (if you are actually interested I'll give you the specifics)

Anyway, it involves making your own yogurt, hence the sour milk smell at her house. We have been a continual yogurt factory for almost 2 weeks.

Mom is already sleeping better, breathing better at night, and isn't stiff and sore, and has had an almost complete elimination of her daily "bloating".

Like the proverbial canary, I look to her progress and have hopes for my own. No big leaps for me, but I can be patient.

Let's hope all the canaries are well and thriving in the ensuing months of the regime.

In the meantime, I'm slogging through some school work, dabbling with Cold Fusion, and reading a bit.

Congratulations!! sounds interesting. I may need more info to help with the Celiac issues at our house. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Please tell your mom thanks for the Christmas card. I lost track of time and stuff....and didn't get any sent out this year-- please pass along that we are doing well and getting settled into the new house. Wish we could see you! Happy New Year! ~sillya

I actually came to your site specifically to see how things were "curdling". Still no signs of things for you huh?? I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I am so glad the Grandma has found some relief! Sorry that you have not found any yet! Maybe it will just take more time?

Maybe the two of you were actually meant to be scientists and this is your big opportunity to make your mark!? Or...maybe you were meant to be Amish and make everything in your life from scratch...Either way, I[m glad to hear that mom is getting some relief. I though her color looked good the day we were there and that she didn't look so puffy around the face.
You my dear, have that pesky, ultra resistant body that says "Oh you think you are going to get me to do something logical? Well, take this..." and it blasts you with another set of frustrations. I will hope for the best for you and that your persistence will pay off. There has to be SOMETHING that will work for you.
Good luck.
