Getting What I Asked for... and still complaining

Miss Mary called me on Wed morning to let me know my offer went through on the short sale. (sort of anti-climactic after nearly 3 months) I'm in Idaho and the inspections etc all have to be done by the 15th. (my last day to pull out of this deal too)

I fly into Tucson on the night of the 12. Will do the inspections and look at some other last minute properties on the 13th. Teach the first day of cold fusion on the 14th, and decide a final yes or no on the orange kitchen property on the 15th. Whew!!

No pressure or anything.

How the heck do I know if this is a great thing? I know I like the location and the "courtyard". I don't like the kitchen or the cave-like feeling of the back rooms...and a host of other little things that need repair.

It doesn't matter what I buy, I think I would be freaking out about the money part regardless. It is SCARY.

Just to add to the fun. My closing date is the day before I fly BACK to Idaho to do a visiting artist gig for a week in Poky. So the place will sit for a week..

Could I be a pessimist? Sure sounds like it.
Let's change tactics.

If I DO buy the orange kitchen I'll:

Be out of the Barbie dream house
can paint walls any color I want
can set up a "lab" of sorts
could invite friends over (if I had some)
would have room for visitors (if anyone came)
would have a great opportunities to learn about home improvement.

I'm sure there is more..... I'm trying. (:

I for one am excited for you! Sounds like things are going to get a little crazy, but so many things have gone in your favor through this whole process. Your so close to the end that you are probably just nervous and don't want to get you hopes up, in fear that things won't work out. You have done such a good job with you little place back home, you will have no problem doing a little fix'n.

Warning! Warning! System overload! I would say that could be part of your dilemma. You have SO many things going on at the moment and when you add them all up. Stress with a capitol S. I'd say you're trying to be very aware of what you're doing and examining all the pros and cons and by so doing it raises some natural concerns. How are you going to get everything done - physically, mentally and emotionally... Plus- buyin a house is a BIG deal!
As long as you're examining and figuring everything out (which you are) then you're doing all you can.
Breathe deep and repeat "I feel good, I feel fine, I feel wonderful..." :0)
Love you!

I think that is exciting. Everyone is nervous about buying their first house. Don't sweat the orange kitchen you can transform the house like you did the little one in Mackay. It didn't happen overnight did it, it happened over time. The same will be true of this house. It's true though you CAN paint the walls any color you want. It's an amazing feeling knowing something is YOURS! You'll get there. It sucks all the other things you have going on around events, but your get through!
