Still not talking about paint.....

The small drip in my tub turned into a regular flowing stream on Monday....and it was a hot stream.

Loathe to call a plumber, I watched every youtube clip I could find on fixing a bathtub leak, then, armed with a borrowed a channel wrench from Rocky my next door neighbor, I set about pulling apart my tub faucet.

Four hours (and a new friendship with Forrest at Ace Hardware) later I had a new stream free faucet!

Ok, so the hot and cold are now backwards... but I refuse to pull it all apart again.

(Consider it a small homage to Bob, master of crooked outlets, buzzing ballasts and reversed hot and cold.)

Armed with the channel locking wrench, and giddy from my bathtub success, I also managed to pry off an offending outdoor spigot attachment that leaked. (something I've been struggling with for weeks)

At the end of the day I heard Helen Reddy singing "I am Woman" to the mental video of my stunning plumberial achievements!

Ahh.. the glory of it all. If only there were a similar magnificence to relish with all of this wretched painting.

I said I'm not ready to talk.

What an homage to dad! Just like all the electrical sockets in our house which are inexplicably upside down. Our house was built by someone's Dad originally. I don't think it is just our dad who suffered from those problems. I think there are many, many do-it-yourself dads who suffer the same malady! You go girl though for doing it yourself. I wouldn't have switched them either. Just be sure to warn people before they use it!!

Sweet! You are my hero. I am always amazed at those people who are not willing to try and tackle home improvement projects on their own. I love how empowered it makes you feel!
