Well, it has been a good run, and much as I love that state... I can barely use denial anymore. So hard to keep up the ruse when it is 106 outside.
Can't deny it. I have to face my first classes tomorrow, endure the faltering AC on the 3rd floor, tackle some tactless colleagues, train new workers, and pray for the cool of November to come quickly.
Although I'm back in the land without daylight savings, and so glad to be living in a place larger than a breadbox, I'd still like to remind myself of one last bit of cool green loveliness that was little more than a week ago.
Another awe inspiring trip to the Lake Creek Lakes with Gordon and Peggy.(Not only do they let me tag along, they provide a 4-wheeler for me to do it on! The LUCK!) The trail is rocky and scary in bits, but still, for me, totally worth it.
Gorgeous day, perfect weather, amazing scenery. (even with all the dead pines)
We went on a Saturday, and I left for the south on Tuesday, so it was indeed my last Hurrah of the summer.
Heavy sigh.
Please humor my need to linger north just a bit longer.

Those are some beautiful shots sista! I don't blame you. I'm afraid I would have a hard time too--especially since it is even greener up here. We aren't too far from solid gray days of very short duration so I have enjoy the sun while it lasts! Not that I am gettin much enjoyment with my long work days since I got back.
Those are some lovely vistas to linger on in denial.
I am currently hanging on to that state for a few more days...Though I don't have the 106 temp to rush me into another phase. Make that an early morning walki with gloves, freezing hands and 35 degrees with WAY less light than a month ago and the result is the same...
Ah well...we do what we have to do, right?!?
You've got my parents wrapped around you finger, don't you? JK. Glad you had a fun time, amazing pictures and good luck with your new year!
Nice pics and good luck with your new school year....you'll be back up North before you know it ;)
