Although it was two weeks ago (and what FEELS like a lifetime) I'm posting some shots from my drive to the heat. It really was a spectacular site. A complete set of double rainbows near Page, with amazing glowing light on the mesas.
Sadly, by the time I got where I could take some pictures (other than those dangerously shot mid-driving) the beautiful light had nearly gone. You can get an idea though.
And totally unrelated...My latest quandary. Large sheets (and I mean sheets as in the size of sheets of paper)of mud/stucco and paint are peeling off the ceiling in my semi open garage.
Not at any one spot, but all over, and no, there does not seem to be wetness or leaking of any kind.
I'm certain it is some sort of "breathing" problem, but with vents already on either end of the garage I'm clueless what should be done to address the cause.
Who do you call for peeling? A handyman, a roof specialist and dermatologist? I think I'd have equal luck and a large bill with any of them. OY! The perils of home ownership.
So far it still beats the Barbie Dream House hands down.

Awesome shots, especially from the car. Holy cow. I'm clueless on the roof. Good luck.
Nice trip pics. Do what every other home owner does, ignore it until you go to sell it!
Guess who lives in the Barbie Dream house now?
Talk about from the sublime to the ridiculous... Nice rainbow shots - I can imagine the frustration wanting to get a shot with the good light and no place to pull over. The shearing off paint is beyond annoying. It's like it was painted a second time while it was wet and so didn't allow the first coat to set (you know like when you put on another coat of nail polish too soon? Like I wear nail polish all the time...)
No real suggestions - I'm with Des- ignore it until you can't...
Nice rainbow photos. I bet is was really cool in person. No advice on the peeling paint though--our climates being so similar and all :-)
