The walk in the grove was the best part. Cool air, beautiful light, actual green.. The Aspen were the tallest and straightest I've ever seen. (check out the pic with my friend in it for scale)
Overall though, the weekend in Flagstaff was a bit awkward. I was staying with friends..but uncomfortable discussions about animal rights, religion, politics, a toilet that wouldn't flush, 2 barking indoor dogs, and witnessing some weird dynamics with the host couple, made me not too anxious to travel up there again.
By the end of the weekend I was ready to hit the road in spite of the 103 temps I would return to, and began to suspect I was the problem, not them...and maybe I was. They are really very nice people and I WAS in PMS overdrive.
Note to self: No traveling under the influence of whacked hormones.... which would mean I would never leave my house.

I've heard that Flagstaff was beautiful. Now I can see that it is. Those Aspens must have been amazing in person. Glad you go out to get some green--despite the hormone overdrive. Hormones suck. My recent adventure included going into the bathroom at work to sit on the floor & cry! I hate them.
Beautiful pictures! Sorry the weekend wasn't as relaxing as you hoped. Traveling with people really brings out the best in them, you know that of all people.
I personally don't think it was you! Hormones or not you are a very sensitive person to situations, and you read people well. Having said that I know you would never make things weird or awkward on purpose, just sayin. So I think maybe your reaction was different than it otherwise would have been (hormones), but you were not the problem, because you are the best!!!!
I've said it before, and I'm not afraid to say it again...I'm going to need some extensive explanation about the whole hormones, monthly mess...etc...
With that said, I agree with Des. You are very aware of the vibes around you and can pick up on things that others (me) would be clueless to...
You did get some nice photos :0)
I guess I forgot to put in the part about from "Whom" I needed the explanation - and that wouldn't be you!I guess I just "assume" that everyone would know I who I meant...the only person who would know, which would be the man upstairs...Gosh. I think I'm diggin myself a pretty good hole here - not to mention the constant foot in mouth problem I have to deal with.
Sheesh!
anyway, just wanted to say I like the new look of the blog. Got your favorite periwinkle colors and a lovely flowered header. Very nice!
Love you!
Des couldn't have said it better! I am sorry that the company was not as pleasant as the scenery! As always, Love your pictures
