We had a tight schedule this day. Loads of driving, lots to see and a goal to get back to the main road before heavy dark.
After Chichen Itza we went to Dzitnup cenote..only to find out there were 2 cenotes. Which to choose?
We chose the one on the right that the tour bus WASN'T going to. Turned out great. Descend through a steep and slippery staired hole and enter and underground cavern filled with crystal blue water and black fish. A single ocular hole at the top letting in light.
We were the only swimmers here, and only interrupted by a few photo takers. It was cool, and eerie. None of us could bring ourselves to swim over the dark black area that we new went down hundreds of feet. (note the floating devices)
Emily and I paid to go look at the second cenote which was lovely, but full of many more swimmers.
At the end Kimberly, Molly and Emily all succumbed to the begging charms of local children lusting after their floating toys. They gave them away.
Those kids were well practices bargainers even without a snitch of english!

Looks really cool. I bet the picture doesn't do justice to how blue it really was. It's cool that you get to swim in it.
