"Hear that sound?.... yeah, that's pretty much a death sigh"
This proclamation was uttered today by the school computer tech guy, and not a total surprise.
I had a feeling it was over last night when I found my laptop "dead" after several attempts to backup. (ironic no)
There were signs of illness. At Christmas I got a grey veil screen that told me in several languages to "restart", and I was consistently worried about the overheating that seemed to be happening more and more often.
I had plans to take it into the Apple store when things "calmed down" at work.
Right.
Well, I have an appointment there tomorrow, but after the diagnosis from the tech guy here I pretty much know the reality. No matter what it means spending money I wasn't planning on just now. ):
So, I'm without a computer at home (where I do 90) of my work, and crossing my fingers that the data created since my last backup is recoverable.
Feeling stressed and a little self pity right now, but it will pass..... eventually.

Can't tell you how many bad computer experiences I've had of a similar vein! It's hard not to have a pity party in that situation! Computers! How did we manage without them. Maybe Spencer can cheer you up though when he gets there.
I didn't lose my computer info - but I DID lose my graphic art assignment book with about 8 years worth of "stuff" I was going to transfer to digital files...So, I can "Kinda" relate. Hope the apple people can help....
ok - weird. This is the word verification - no kidding
