How many aprons does one cold fusion scientist need?
This question has plagued the fusion field for decades. The problem is so complex it will not likely be solved in my lifetime and may, in fact, never be.
Until then I, and many of my fellow fusionists, persevere with research into our own apron needs. I was fortunate enough to do joint research this holiday break when Crazy Lady came for a week long visit.
Crazy, drawing on my foundational studies into suitable fabrics stored in bins, was able to create * three new aprons for her personal use. (four really, as one is reversible..... I told you it was complex)
* Note that Crazy appears less "happy" with each apron. This prompted my latest research hypothesis that more aprons might actually provide less satisfaction! Shocking if true. Watch for updates in CF Monthly.
Unrelated to apron efforts is this lovely tote Crazy made for me in her *spare time. (*spare is a misnomer in the context of Crazy)
I've never considered my wide toed, narrow heeled, high arched, high in-stepped foot an asset, but it proved handy in pushing Crazy away from doodling on shoes and into canvas bags, and I reaped the benefits! Thank you wonky feet.
Outside of Crazy's wonderful visit my break has been fairly packed. Lots of CF research, of course, as well as nice long phone visits with family, some facetime with more family (I'm the winner in those things given the rate of my bathing) and some lovely arrivals from far away.
Thanks to family and friends who sent cards, gifts and called... or who just are there when needed.
In a few scant days it is back to the daily grind. Which reminds me....... I didn't get a new apron made.... and there is nothing worse than starting off the new semester with a poor apron impression. But will one be enough?
Thank heavens I have Crazy's pioneering research on which to begin.

I just have the one apron that Karen made me. I love it. I think more than one would make me smile. She's very stylish though. Love the decorated bag she did. Wish I could "doodle" like that!
Ahh...that was SUCH a fun break for me!! Thanks so much for allowing me to plunder your fabric stash. Though I should have just replaced what I used from the fabric I purchased...that was SO fun by the way :0)
Hope you figured out what combination to do for your new apron. Surely there would be "some" combination that would suit?
Miste, you CAN doodle! When in doubt you could look up zentangle on Pinterest. There are step by step instructions for ways to start different patterns.
Oh man there is nothing like spending time with your sister. Especially if that sister is Crazy Lady! I am so glad she came to visit. She at least puts in some effort, unlike myself.
It was so nice to talk to you. Thanks for listening to my ramblings and rants. I am looking forward to seeing you this summer!
How fun to have a visit. Cute aprons and awesome bag.
One can never have too many aparons...they're too fun to make and it gives one a reason to buy material :)
I actually have the pattern for the "Grandma Hall" apron...Peggy passed it on to me. I need Karen to come visit me for a weekend and help me figure it out...lol! Maybe we could set up shop in the lodge at the reunion...ooooo, that could be fun!
