Palatial Studio

I know you have all been dying to see images of my expansive studio living arrangement. The long composite is really the best sort of overview. It is so small I can't really shoot a "room".
It certainly has been an interesting first week. I'm renting the "guest house" of one of my colleagues. A studio in her back yard. She has two large hound dogs who bellow everytime I come home and bolt out of their dog door, slobber flying, every time I come through the gate. (when I agreed to rent this the dogs were supposed to be gone)

Anyway....My toilet backed up and broke the seal at the toilet base the first day i was here. As a result I have had to go into the main house for every WC urge. This means no peeing in the night and I made sure I emptied my bladder at 10pm and didn't go again until 8. Whew! You can imagine the fun of going into a co-workers house for every bodily function.
Luckily she is really nice and felt horrible about the whole thing.
BUT, I now have my own toilet and am working on tolerating slobbery (no.. really!!) houndogs.

My first days back at work were ok other than a major meltdown with a former employee who I had fired. All is good though. Going to look for a better bed today.

Thanks for the pics! I WAS dying to see where you were going to be laying your lil head every night. It all looks very compact and tidy. I bet mom would love it, not an inch of wasted space! :0)
I certainly hope the toliet is in working order again soon. As far as the slobbery hounds go - you have my deepest sympathy.
Too bad you couldn't sic em on the disgruntled ex-empployee/student!
I'm sending good vibes your way and hoping that this will be the year of POSTIVE change for you!

What a cute little place! I love it (at least from what I can see in the pictures). I really like the long window above the sink. I wish I had a window above my sink. I think there used to be one, but it's all covered up now. I could be wrong though. Good luck with those dogs. I personally would love to have a couple of dogs to play with that I didn't have to take care of, but you know how I am with animals. Good luck getting used to them.

I know I sound like a total animal hater.... and I'm not. I'm animal neutral. I respect how much people connect with them, (and I did as a kid) but I personally hate the hair, slobber, licking, barking, meowing, rubbing. (it all makes my eyes itch too)
Ok, so I still sound like a hater.
Honest I'm not.

I do not like dogs at all and I would probably freak out every time they came out if I were you. The palace is small but very cute. Hopefully it will be very temporary

I really like the way it is decorated and the green is really cute. It does look small but cozy. I like the quilt too. I am sorry about the dogs...I am more of a cat person and big loud dogs kinda freak me out. I don't think you are an animal hater- you choose not to have them and now you are forced to deal with them at your own house- I would be annoyed. Hopefully your eyes will stop burning- that is horrible.

Oh, I'm just probably dramatic (though the drool is real)It is a cute little place and Kelly is fun. It is almost like having a fun roomate without any of the who cleans what hassle.

I'm afraid I would have issues with the slobbery dogs too. Well, I would have issues with non-slobbery dogs too! I personally love going to someone's house and having their dog come up and stick their nose in my crotch. That's my personal favorite. After living in Seattle I am becoming a dog hater. People here are weird. Don't get me started.
Glad to hear the bathroom issue is solved. I would have a VERY hard time not being able to go in the middle of the night!
I heard from mom about the X-employee deal. Glad you were able to get her out of your class. What a nightmare.
Your studio is very cute.
