This is an interesting location to me. On first glance it felt quite familiar and homelike...semi arid with mountains. But closer inspection tells a different story. Mule deer and white tailed deer, trout and bass, pheasants and wild turkey, prairie and mountains, skunks and prairie dogs.(and way too many king snakes and ticks)
It is a literal crossroads of midwest and west.
The pictures included here illustrate my point and are taken from a vantage point on the way into Sheridan called Jimmy Crick. The two photos are taken from the same spot on the road. The red dry badlands looking picture is facing east and turning 180 degrees there is the green mountain view facing west. The transition is a quick one!
BUT, when I went into Sheridan yesterday there was no doubt I was in the West. This fine gentleman named John sang me the "Browsing Song" while I wandered through the dirtiest, strangest "shop" I've ever seen. John was a character who wrote the song (and several others he sang for me) about a man who came in the shop trying to pawn his false teeth. True story claims John.

The final image is the best looking stuff in the shop. I didn't touch a thing, that is just how it looked. No treasures in the 2nd Hand Pawn Shop except for John with his rheumy eyes and half tuned guitar.

You are having some excellant adventures in Wyoming.
Yikes!!! What a "find". Never a dull moment for you eh?
And, I am amazed at that 180 transition. Crazy. I'm counting the days til your WYo fun is done...Selfish. I know.
That is an amazing contrast. Great photos. Is the "Browsing Song" something Phoebe might have sung on Friends?? The West definitely is full of characters!
If Phoebe used Johnny Cash like melodies and voice, it could have been a Phoebe song!
It was really funny.
