Turns out a 4 wheel drive is NOT needed in Crazy Woman Canyon. Well, yesterday anyway. My favorite day here so far, and I wasn't at the
residency at
all!Drove through the stunning canyon near Buffalo with one of the other residents. (seen here on a rickety bridge)
I drove my truck as it had the higher clearance. As always the pictures can't do justice to the scale of things. OH to have Gordon's water blurring skills!
We ended the day at the historic Occidental Hotel in Buffalo, where every Thursday night is open mike country and bluegrass music. They give away free cookies have drawings for all sorts of donated items and in short make it quite the community event.
Most of the give away goodies were home baked goods by local older ladies. (most of whom came 2 hours early and nabbed all the good seats) I don't believe I have ever won anything from a random draw until last night, and ironically I won something I can eat. Crab Apple syrup.
Ruby, the maker of said syrup was there sporting an occidental sweatshirt and the biggest green neck bandanna I have ever seen.

It was a funny and great ending to a fabulous day. Can't wait to drive out again!

My god..The canyon picture is awesome bro..thanks for posting it...nice job...
How ironic that you would get crab apple syrup, and amazing that it is something you can actually eat! I've been wondering how things were going and am thrilled to see that you are living up to your reputation and having adventures left and right. See you soon!
I never would have guessed you could have such adventures in Wyoming.
So beautiful and so fun. I enjoy immensely that you are writing more. You really are very good. Can't wait to see you. When are you coming through? When can we come see your summer cold fusion lab?
