Italy at 13...very educational.
Most of the actual events have long since been replaced by the photographs, but I do know that the trip that taught me:
if I worked hard I could accomplish things,
my world was small and the World world was HUGE,
that Italian men were beautiful..and disgusting,
people are the same, but cultures are amazingly different,
jet-lag is a real thing,
that a bidet is not for washing socks,
I wanted to see more of the World world.
Well, I learned a lot more but you get the idea.
Get a load of those hair styles, but in our defense we camped the entire trip.

Ahhh...that's fun!
That was an AMAZING trip, I must say. Thanks for posting the pictures - lovely hairstyles and all.
I remember riding in front of the car with my feet up on the dash and to this day when I do that (cause I still do even though I'm old and fat) I think of our trip.
It was a good time for me to reconnect with the "little girls" who had changed quite drastically while I was in Chile.
I'm SO glad we went. That opportunity to be together and experience a different culture whilst solving "problems" of varying degrees was grand...
I would recommend it - in fact, let's do it again!
I say New Zealand 2015! Who's in???
I am in!!!!
I love the pictures. I really like you holding up the leaning tower, that is great. Never gets old!
As always.....jealous!
Wow I totally typed in an awesome comment last night and it's not here! How weird. I can't even reconstruct it now. Bummer cuz it was good. Fun to go back in time though--even with the tight red pants. Who knew why I was so enamoured with those pants that I wore them all the time. An adventure of a lifetime though--stolen luggage, scary train conductors, laughing til I peed my pants, french fries/watermelon italian style, getting hit on in the train station, camping in Florence, getting busted for picking roses in Rome...it was all good!
