Last Day a Keeper

Our final day was a keeper.

Morning snorkel in the Gran Cenote near Tulum. This one was open to the daylight and full of divers exploring the underwater formations. It was really amazing and difficult to describe, and we all really enjoyed it. (hopefully the little video Em took will work)

Next Kimberly and I nearly ran through Tulum ruins(Em and Molly opted out). I really wanted to see that sea cliff location in spite of the crowds, and wasn't disappointed. Kimberly couldn't resist the chance to swim at the beautiful beach, and I irritated the local iguana's.

From there we all met up again and finished out our day back at Akumal beach. Still no turtles and that is what it is famed for.. BUT, I nearly peed my swimsuit when a huge eel swam out at me from a big rock. Turtle? Eel scare? Yea, I would have liked the turtle.
We also saw many fish and two sting rays.

A lovely last day.

Whew! There. That will teach you to ask for more details.

Those are some lovely water shots. I, for one, enjoyed living vicariously through them - especially as I shoveled snow, yet again... sigh.
