How NOT to get your Murphy Bed Used

The Good:
Aleta came for 5 days.
I'm recovering faster than I anticipated.
It happened over spring break.
I have insurance
Good friends who helped.

The Bad:
I'm missing another body part in an already compromised digestive system.
It happened over spring break. (double edged sword that)
Arranging for my class coverage is turning into more work than going in myself!
I'm super worried about the long term effects.
Even with insurance, I'm out a hefty sum.

The picture above is my former gall bladder with the Cleveland sized stone wedged into the opening of the bile duct. Clear visual evidence of a problem that I had attempted to "fix" by myself.... and only managed to make worse.

I won't regale you with all the details, it is enough to say that many nights of pain and vomiting preceded the surgery I had on March 9th, and for good or bad the gall bladder is now gone.

The best part of it all was having Aleta come for 5 days. She cooked, lifted, cleaned, planted, sewed, sorted and kept me company in a frustrating time. (and used the murphy bed)

Having said that, I'm not sure I want to go to those lengths in the future to have someone visit!

I'm sure Aleta had a great time with you despite the circumstances. Although the whole thing wasn't pleasant it could have been worse (timing, severity, etc.) Just glad to hear that you are recuperating nicely!

Nausea? Vomiting?Excruciating pain? Surgery? You DO know how to have a good time! Makes me want to sprint right down there and join in the fun. (Sarcasm in case I was being too subtle...Not that I get accused of that often)....
Glad to hear you're mending quickly and that Aleta was able to come and assist. I know only to well about the preparing for a sub being harder than doing the work yourself. But, would also caution you not to push yourself too hard to try and return quickly and compromise your recovery...another double edged sword..
I'll be calling you soon- in the meantime take it easy, buck up and know that I love you! But apparently not enough to fly down and test out the Murphy bed.
