I have a stupid question.
Oh, I'm sure it's not stupid.
Yes, I'm sure when you hear it you will think it's stupid, but I honestly don't know. Do I need to keep this stuff refrigerated all the time...I mean will it go "bad" in a few hours in my car?
The checker at Albertons raised his eyebrows off his head and looked at me like I was an alien. Yeah... I told him he'd think it was stupid.
I was asking this about a case of Negra Modelo beer purchased on the request of a retiree who would take it in return for the delivery of the Murphy bed I purchased from him, and found on Craigslist.
Just one of many adventures involved in the acquisition and installation of this much sought after bed.
Long story short.
Old men post Murphy Bed on Craigslist for hundreds less than I have ever seen.
I purchase bed, and men promise delivery. (in exchange for beer)
Old men underestimate weight of bed, ask me to find "help" for unloading with 10 minutes notice.
I AM the help.
Hurt my back.
Men break bed, as well as garage pull... get beer anyway.
Bed sits on patio for a week. Buy tarp to cover.
Hire grads to repair and install bed.
Paint wall before bed install.
Hurt back further, buy more beer for grad who thinks it funny I bought it in the first place.
Bed Finally installed.
It WORKS. (even with a bad back)
Studio by day, lovely guest nook by night.
Come for a visit, there is finally a bed.

Well the ginger boy will be sad he just missed having the murphy bed. He did regale us with the story of the beer & the sales clerk. Glad you were finally able get it in and hope your back gets better soon.
Saweet!!! Now I will definitely have to come and check that out! LOVE what you did with the inside trees. I have always thought that the Murphy bed thing was cool from the first time I saw one on tv. I believe someone got folded up on one of course.
The back situation does NOT sound so cool though. Hope it's not going to be a permanent reminder of the bed.
You DO manage to get the looks from store clerks don't you!. But I would have had to ask the same...
Now that rocks! I need that bed, I will put it along side Becketts fold up changing table. I wonder if it would be hard for my parents to make?
Side note, sorry you hurt your back! I never used to have problems lifting things until this last year, it sucks. I don't know if it's because I am getting old, or my stomach muscles are non-exsistant or what. Hopefully it will heal before you try to do anything again.(:
Ok, everything except the bad back is really funny. And I love craig's list. I bought my wedding pearls with stuff I sold out of the garage via craig's list.
Also, I LOVE the bed. It looks so nice.
Yikes, I guess you got a "funny story" out the whole pain? Glad it does actually work after the whole thing is said and done. Sorry!)
