"Long as I remember, rain been coming down, clouds of mystery pourin confusion on the ground........and I wonder, still I wonder, who'll stop the rain"
Credence Clearwater Revival's song is an apt anthem for a good share of our trip. Don't let the few pictures with sun fool you... we have hundreds more taken whilst wearing rain jackets and special protective camera sleeves.
In spite of cancelled excursions, torrential downpours and few vistas to behold, we are setting out each day and seeing what we can. In the last two days we hit a lovely hour of sun amongst the clouds at the Kileuea lighthouse, watched dozens of turtles rise to the surface near the Queen's bath, spent half a day on a cloudy south shore beach, and drove the entire north shore.
We even have a picture of an endangered monk seal here. See if you can find him. (break out those where's Waldo skills)
I'm hoping for a more Beatles weekend to the tune of "Here Comes the Sun", but the forecast does not look promising. If the island is this lovely when it is this bad, I can only imagine what it must be when it is good!

So so so pretty!!!
Didn't they also sing "I see a bad moon arising"...Obviously I don't have the song gene like somebody snapping amazing,Gorgeous photos in an exotic, wet setting! Beautiful scenes - wet or dry. Mom and I DID find the seals. I'm praying for some sunshine for you. It DOES sound like y'all are making the best of it.
For some reason I was thinking "Afternoon Delight" when when you said CCR--not sure where that came from. Too bad it has been so rainy for your trip! What a bummer. Glad you are making the most of it though. I hope you DO get some sun. Seeing the turtles sounded like it was really cool.
Bummer...about the rain. I think the turtles are SO NEAT! I've always wanted to see the turtles in their natural habitat...CONGRATS!
