I can't do it.
I'm trying... in fact I've ventured out about 10 ft... but I can't do it. My thighs are trembling, my adrenaline is through the roof. Karen is half way across.. but I know even if I make it over I'll struggle even worse on the return... my spasming back won't hold up.....I hobble shakily back across the log and watch her shimmy on.
My first thought safely ensconced on solid rock is "Aack!... I don't want to admit to Gordon I couldn't do this.. he'll totally mock me"
This log crossing event (which I did several years ago my pride dictates I must add) receives 3rd place as the scariest episode for me on a wonderful week long camping trip with Karen in her posh motorhome up Wildhorse. (Here is Karen on her log shimmy return...I'm still trembling)
First Place: A slimy fishtailing ride up trail creek in a snowstorm looking for a place to turn around. We were mighty close to stuck for a day in my little truck. (It is still covered mid window with solid mud shell)
Second Place: Well... you would have to have been there... let's just say that two mysterious loud splashes in the stream by our night time campfire sent us both back into the luxury motorhome breathing heavy and laughing a bit maniacally.

Like every novice writer I've buried the lead, which is: We had a beautiful, fun, glorious week, walking, taking heaps of photos, eating good food, and reading "Adrian Mole".
It was dead good.
Thanks to Karen my back is slightly improved, I'm back on the inflammation regime I've been struggling with, and I've spent time in one of my favorite places on earth without having to sleep on the ground.
This post has been made "legally" and without the aid of alley internet. For those wondering.. I don't have wifi in the summer simply because it is crazy expensive to hook up for only 3 months. I can often get a signal from my neighbor Shirley (with her permission and password I might add) but it is sketchy at best.
Today's post comes via P and G's deck. (I promised no more alley)
