I’ve been trying to come up with some descriptor, simile, or metaphor, anything to explain what this very strange summer has been.....and... you know that cliched roller coaster ride analogy used to describe the ups and downs in life? Yeah.
It doesn’t apply here.
I can’t seem to fully describe what it IS... but I DO know what it isn’t. It isn’t fully joyful, but it is not without joy. It isn’t normal, or comfortable, or easy, but then neither is it wholly abnormal, completely uncomfortable nor constantly difficult.
It is filled with a thousand little cries, and an equal number of micro melancholy joys. The lows are not endlessly deep but ever present, while the highs (or should I say mids?) are brief and always tempered with a bit of pain, as if I can’t fully absorb them.
More trolling than roller coaster, but again, the analogy isn’t right.
Either way I’m moving, and for now I suppose that is better than not. Thank heavens for the family and friends who have helped keep me moving, however slow.
The moving parts of the last month included:
Family Reunion at Cabin Creek
Teaching a Cold Fusion Workshop in SD
Cold Fusion Friends Visit
Day in the Sawtooths
Several outings with G and P

Trolling is moving. And that is something right?
You have some lovely, and fun shots there. Hopefully a few of those "mids" will gradually move up a bit on the scale. but, at least you're having some enjoyable times in the mix occasionally.
And you're WAY ahead of me on the blogging front!
Awesome photos. Looks like you have spent some time four wheeling. I'm guessing you aren't too far away from having to head back down south. Man this summer has really flown! At least for me anyway. Still lots of things undone though.
That is about all you can do, keep moving. Time wounds all heals right. This summer has also been a lot of firsts, and those are always hard as well.
It was good to see you up at Redfish, and hope I will get to see you again before you head back.
