Too Soon

When do you have to go back?

Too soon.
That is usually my reply to this heinous question. Notice it is HAVE to go back, not get to.

Anyway, this year is no different than others in that I HATE the thoughts of returning to the heat and drama of my other life.

P and G (not proctor and gamble FYI) were kind enough to invite me along on a last hurrah camping trip this last weekend.
(It may very well be the last time they do -and I can't blame them - as my snoring made for some unsettled sleeping in the trailer)

It was a glorious weekend for me anyway. A great ride up Little Fall Creek. (note P and G on the ATV in this shot for scale)

This is one of the falls on "Little Fall Creek". It was so perfect. (after G removed a tree anyway) Just the right amount of tinkling water with lush greenery and flowers around.

Here is a rare shot of G, NOT taking a picture. This is the elusive upper falls at Fall Creek. (not to be confused with Big Fall Creek , or Little Fall Creek... this is just Fall Creek) I say elusive because this is the falls I couldn't get to in June with Crazy because of my Log crossing phobias. Don't cheer yet... I didn't cross the log this time either. The water was low enough I found a spot and waded across, then shimied up some rocks, rather than face that log. Hopefully G will post some of his great pictures so you can see how gorgeous the falls are without him in them. (:

This is near where we camped up Kane Creek. P and I took a fun lazy walk the first day and found this great lichen covered rock. You can see it was pretty hazy in the distance from fires near Stanley.

I'm putting in load of flowers for Crazy, who I know is a fan.
This view is up Phi Kappa Creek. It was beautiful up at the top with scores of flowers that were waist high.

It was such a nice last hurrah for me, and I'm still denying I have to drive south in a few days.

When do I have to go back?   Always too soon.

I am glad you were able to make it to the other side, whether it was via the log or not:) Pictures are amazing as always! Drive safe and talk to you soon:)

JEALOUS! Those flowers are wonderful, not to mention the other great shots. Glad you got to go. Sad you had to go back :0(

It was lovely to see you- all too briefly- on your way south.
Hope the little escapes of the summer will sustain you through the winter months ahead.
